Douglas Quaid is a factory worker in the late 21st century, living in a world divided between two nations: the United Federation of Britain and the Colony. Despite having a stable life and a beautiful wife, Lori, he is haunted by recurring dreams of being a secret agent. Seeking an escape from his mundane existence, he visits Rekall, a company that implants fake memories of heroic adventures.
During the procedure, something goes wrong. The Rekall technicians discover that Quaid actually has real suppressed memories of being a spy.
