Ratchet successfully refines a version of Synthetic Energon but decides to skip standard safety protocols and inject it himself.

Overconfident, Ratchet tracks down Megatron alone at a Decepticon energon mine. Despite his enhanced state, he is eventually overpowered and severely injured by Megatron.

In this episode, attempts to recreate the lost formula for Synthetic Energon to replenish the Autobots' dwindling supplies. Frustrated by his perceived limitations in combat, he tests the experimental and unstable substance on himself.
