After it is determined Simon’s death was a murder, the remaining four students (the "Bayview Four") become primary suspects, as each had a motive to silence him before he could reveal their deepest secrets.
The group eventually discovers that Simon had planned his own non-fatal allergic reaction as a "prank" with Addy's boyfriend, Jake . However, Jake sabotaged the plan to actually kill Simon and frame the others.
Five students—Simon, Addy, Cooper, Bronwyn, and Nate—are given detention. During the session, Simon, the creator of a notorious gossip app called "About That," suffers a fatal allergic reaction.
