While international audiences might associate "Hot Pants" with the funk of (who released his famous track in 1971), Die Travellers provided a distinctly German, comedic take on the phenomenon. The song can be found on several of their compilation albums, such as Jubel, Trubel, Travellers! (Jazz Club) .

Die Travellers were one of Germany’s most enduring and successful cabaret-style trios.

Founded in Berlin in 1946, the group was led by Fred Oldörp (vocals and bandoneon).

The group remained active for nearly four decades until Oldörp's death in 1984. They were staples of German television and variety shows, known for their sharp wit and musical versatility.

They began as a jazz-influenced trio but found massive success by specializing in humorous covers and parodies of international hits.
