During the fight, Ran'Tao uses the power of the Jōkaishō to restrain Kariya, urging Uryū to shoot through her to kill him. Uryū hesitates and ultimately chooses to use the Bangle's remaining power to save Ran'Tao's life rather than defeat Kariya, causing the artifact to shatter and leaving him powerless.
