Aya_ceremony <UHD>

The ceremony took place in a maloca , a circular wooden structure open to the night air. As the sun set, the group sat in a circle on thin mats. The Shaman blew sacred tobacco smoke ( mapacho ) over the participants for protection. When it was Elias’s turn, he drank the thick, bitter brew, tasting like earth and ancient roots.
